I may need to make one of these soon!
you should, I love mine...
Do you have a pattern? I have recently crocheted some baskets and I'm sure it's that same basic pattern of increasing until it fits the jar and then sc all the way up. But tell me what you did for the finishing row for the "little ruffle"? It also looks like you might have decreased toward the top. It's very cute!
yes, for the bottom I increased until it was large enough. for the sides, I chained one, 2 sc in the next stitch, skip a stitch repeating until end of row, slip stitched into the first sc to join, chain one, 2 sc in next stitch, skip a stitch... for the ruffle I did sc + hdc in one stitch, 2 dc in the next stitch, 1 hdc + sc in the third stitch, skip the fourth stitch, repeating. and no, I did not decrease towards the top, it just fits very snuggly around the jar :)
it's great, Laura.Did you spiral up or was the last stitch in each row joined to the first with a slip st? x
joined to the first single crochet with a slip stitch...
thank you Laura!
Did you start the project with a ring? I'm very new to crocheting and am not quite sure how to start this. Really love the colors you used!
i started with a magic ring. if you go to you tube and do a search for it, you will find a tutorial.
Hi, have just seen this in Mollie makes. Can you post a quick link to the pattern? With hugs
Hi... If you scroll up to my comment from Feb.7th you will see the directions for what I did.

I'm new to crochet and will definitely give this gorgeous piece a try! Saw in it Mollie Makes. I've really fallen in love with crochet, and I absolutely LOVE the pretty coloured hooks in the jar!
This is adorable! The colors are so cute!
Hello Laura, I Love this and have also seen this in the store for water bottles w a long strap like a purse. Its great!~ Can you pls start off from the beginning, as I have never tried this b4 and am apt to get frustrated..LoL! single crochet 6 to form a circle.... I hope thats close, lol. Then the increasing looks a little confusing but Im really anxious and want to learn this. What wool r u using? Heavy cotton?I truly look forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much!Kathryn
You should sell on Etsy! I LOVE this jar cozy.
You're so sweet - thanks.
If you ever post a complete pattern I would be the first to pin it! Thanks for sharing this. These are great!
Laura, Love the crochet Mason Jar cover. Ravely says there is a free pattern but the link only takes me to you blog. Can you please post the link to the complete pattern? I am new to crochet and would love to give this a try and would probably make many mistakes if I try to make this up as I go along. Thanks!
Unfortunately, I didn't post this as a pattern to Ravelry, someone else did. I did not write a pattern for it, but I did explain in the comments (up at the top) how I created it.
I LOVE owls!! I am having trouble with round 4, I cannot figure out what you mean. The double crochet and single crochet go where? Thanks!
Not understanding your instructions @ Feb 7th. Can you please rewrite?
i crocheted a circle in single crochet for the bottom until it was wide enough to fit my jar. For the sides, after you slip stitch to join your last round of the bottom, chain one and the make 2 single crochet in the first stitch. skip the second stitch and then make 2 single crochet in the third stitch, repeating until end of row. then you will slip stitch into the first single crochet to join. repeat this until it's tall enough for your jar.for the ruffle I made single crochet + half double crochet in one stitch, 2 double crochet in the next stitch, 1 half double crochet + single crochet in the third stitch, skip the fourth stitch, repeating these stitches until you reach the end. hope this helps you...
Very cute. Thanks for sharing your pattern. Blessings!
This really looks cute. I'll try soon. :)
Love your blog.Greetings from Iceland
